The Hypno-Band™
Gastric Band surgery is a major undertaking, similar to a person having their jaws
wired to prevent the passage of food. It is a step often taken as a ‘last resort’
after all else, including dieting has failed. Also, not everyone can get this treatment.
It is usually reserved for people classified as "obese" and with a high Body Mass
Index (BMI) usually over 30. Additionally, some may be too overweight to undergo
the procedure, so the Hypno-Band™ for weight loss for them becomes even more attractive.
A surgical Gastric Band works by restricting the size of the stomach and limiting the amount of food that can be eaten before you ‘feel full’, therefore you eat smaller portions. Through this method is is possible to lose weight easily.
However, the surgical method does have drawbacks. As with any surgical procedure there are risks. There is also the inconvenience and potential stress and trauma of visiting hospital, not to mention the potentially long waiting times.
Finally, it is very costly, typically costing £4000 to £6000.

What’s involved?
The therapy typically takes four sessions, each lasting approximately one hour. Starting with a full assessment you will be taken through the process of having a gastric band fitted, only in your mind. By eating less and less often you will begin to lose weight.
