Anxiety

Do you suffer from panic attacks?Do your nerves get the better of you, are anxiety attacks a worry or do you just worry about all sorts of things?  Hypnotherapy with NLP and CBT techniques can help. A relatively short programme could change your life.

While the sensations may be very similar to those of fears and phobias, which are reactions to past events, here the sufferer is anxious about the occurrence or outcome of a future event. Here the tendency is to think the worst will happen, based either on a previous experience or an imaginary outcome. In short, there is a tendency to ‘catastrophise’ situations.

That we realise this on a rational or conscious level doesn’t stop our subconscious constructing all manner of dire outcomes, whether this be driving test nerves, exam nerves, the social anxiety of an imminent family get-together or other social occasion, or the thought of having to make a speech or presentation. Most people have heard that little voice that warns of impending disaster or failure; something like “When Jack and Jill find out what you’ve done, boy I wouldn’t want to be in your shoes!”, or "You're going to make a real fool of yourself in front of all those people!"

Again, this may be down to the way we have coded past experiences and are using this mental map of the past to inform the possible scenario of the future, without any real evidence that this will be the case. It may be on the other hand the effect of low self-confidence and low self-esteem.

While the projected outcome may in fact occur, it is unlikely to have the severe repercussions anticipated. Even so, worrying about something that hasn’t happed yet and may be quite mild if it does is not setting you up to comfortably deal with it.

After all,

“Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday and all is well.”

As with fears and phobias, depending on how deep seated or complex the issue, it may be resolved by a simple NLP intervention or, by nesting NLP within hypnotherapy.

So, don’t let your nerves get the better of you. Give me a call for an informal chat. There is no obligation for you to go further if you don't want to.
